Stocking StufferLooking for that right little stocking stuffer for someone who uses gadgets on the road? If so, here are a few novel ideas that you may not have thought of to help ease that aching pain of selection.

iTwin

They look like a pair of USB flash drives, but iTwin is a plug and play device that gives you the ability to have secure, easy no-fuss file sharing without having to go through the challenges of setting up and configuring a virtual private network.

You snap the keys together like Lego and insert it into a PC or Mac's USB port. The software launches and installs in no time. You can copy files to the virtual drive that's been created on your computer that can be shared. Then simply remove one of the 2 keys and plug it into another Internet connected computer anywhere in the world and repeat the process. You can copy, move or even play files between the computers. Upload photos to your home computer while on the road. Even edit a file that's sitting on your office computer thousands of miles away. And because the process uses 256-bit military grade encryption, it's fully secure. Nothing is stored in the cloud and nothing on the key, so unlike a USB drive there's no worry if you lose it, because you can send a disable code to iTwin's servers.

iTwin retails for $99.00 US and comes in 2 colours available from iTwin.com and Amazon.com.

Stocking Stuffer Quik Pod Mobile

From the makers of Quik Pod, the world first extended hand held tripod that allows you to take photos of yourself comes QuikPod Mobile. Now the luxury once available only for cameras and vidcams has been extended to Android smartphones, BlackBerrys and iPhones.

Apple may have revolutionized mobile videoconferencing with the creation a FaceTime, but sometimes, especially if you are engaging in a great conversation, it can get a little tiring holding the iPhone for very long periods of time.

Or perhaps, you're shooting a video or need some stability taking still shots. QuikPod Mobile makes that easy too. It attaches to any tripod (or Quik Pod) and allows your iPhone or other device to be kept upright, or in any position you want for that matter, so you don't have to keep it in your hand. It keeps the bottom free from obstruction to allow your charging cord or docking cable to pass right through it.

To secure your device, it has a wheel fastener that turns and actually gently hugs your iPhone and keeps it snuggly in place without damaging or scratching it.

Quik Pod Mobile is available as a standalone adapter ($19.95) or better yet, you can get Quik Pod Mobile+, which includes the mobile adapter, a carry bag and a mini tripod that extends, tilts and swivels for only $29.95. Both can be purchased at QuikPod.com.

Stocking Stuffer Twittens

Ever want to text or tweet in subzero weather? It's painful and somewhat almost impossible. Enter Twittens, a creation by Lincoln McCardle a clever individual from London Ontario, who didn't want to get frostbite answering his phone or changing a song on his iPod in the dead of winter.

Twittens, as McCardle calls, "gloves for the text generation," are made from high quality polar fleece. To minimize the slipping of your gadgets from the fleece, the gloves have patches in the palms and fingertips. There are flaps on the thumb and forefinger portion of the glove that fold back and stay in place with Velcro to give the exposed fingers easy, smooth and uninterrupted access to almost any device while keeping the rest of your hand wand toasty warm. Cool!

Twittens are an ideal stocking for your mobile warrior. They retail for $24.95 and come in pink and black with sizes ranging from XXS to XL You can get them on-line directly from Twittens as well as many Staples and Moore stores and other outlets across the country.

iTunes Gift Cards & Certificates

Stocking Stuffer With over 500,00 apps and music and movies galore, if you really want to offer some flexibility, consider a gift of iTunes. Your loved one can purchase whatever they want whenever they want whether it be for their Mac or PC, iOS devices or Apple TV.

iTunes Gift Cards come in various denominations, but what you may not be aware of is that if you are far away and don't have time to physically mail or deliver the card, there's a solution for that. The gift of iTunes is also available as a certificate, which you can print your self or just email immediately. The nice thing is that no postage is required!

I hope you can use a few of these ideas to ease your holiday shopping and give a gift that's useful, practical, fun and something they may never have even known existed.

Happy Holidays!
