Belkin Valet Charge Dock charges Apple Watch + iPhone

Belkin Valet Charge Dock Having a charging dock on your desk or bedside table can be pretty handy and even better if it can be used for more than one device. Such is the case of the Belkin Valet Charge Dock for Apple Watch + iPhone. It's an elegant all-in-one solution that features a Lightning charging connector for your iPhone and an integrated magnetic charger for your Apple watch and will charge both simultaneously.

At first glance, it actually looks pretty cool and something that you may actually see on display at a store. It has a sturdy solid cast metal base that offers good stability and a rubberized bottom to keep it from slipping while protecting your furniture's finish.

The base measures 5.28" wide and 3.47" deep. It has a silver finish which has a Lightning connector protruding from the bottom allowing you to prop up your iPhone in the stand. It's complemented nicely with a chrome-finished solid metal stem and arm with a rounded magnetic connector at the end for your Apple watch to sit upon.

When placed in the stand, both your phone and watch can face forward on an angle for ideal viewing.

Adjustable Lightning Connector

Belkin Valet Charge Dock I really like that they made the Lightning connector adjustable. You can adjust its height with a thumb dial located on the back of the dock. This allows it to accommodate a vast variety of iPhone cases and still keep your phone flush with the base. The Lightning connector also pivots slightly, again, to compensate for the different cases and allow your phone to rest comfortably against the back of the chrome stem.

I also like how the arm elevates the Apple Watch above the surface so you can easily reach for it and it can conveniently stay out of harm's way. There's also a support clip you can attach to keep your Apple Watch mesh band in place.

An included AC adapter powers the dock. I was a little surprised there was no USB charging support in the event you wanted to charge your device through your computer or other USB charger.

It's obvious it’s designed to be plugged into the wall and left in one place. The power receptacle on the dock is quite recessed and requires a little effort to secure the power plug. With that said it's unlikely that the AC adapter plug will ever accidentally come loose. And that's a good thing for you because, I'm sure it's happened to you where you set your device to charge for the night only to find out in the morning the plug had come loose or fallen out.

It also would have been nice if the arm had extension capabilities. This would have allowed the dock to also be conveniently used with an iPad, specifically the iPad mini.

Makes a Statement

Belkin Valet Charge Dock Overall I think it's a great little dock. It allows you to charge both your iPhone and Apple Watch with one cable. It also uses the same magnetic technology as Apple's own watch charger. It may be a little pricey and overkill for someone who wants a simple plastic charging dock. However, you are getting two docks in one. And for someone who prefers a little more stability and embraces elegance in a dock then the Valet Charge Dock certainly makes a statement.

The dock is compatible with any iPhone 5 and up and Apple Watch - both 38 mm & 42 mm models.

Belkin Valet Charge Dock for Apple Watch + iPhone retails in Canada for $149.99. It's available in the Silver finish as well as Rose Gold and comes with a two-year warranty. It's available through Belkin as well as exclusively through Apple Stores both retail and online.
