'Devil 4' will make you 'Cry'

Devil May Cry 4From its inception, the 'Devil May Cry' series has told great stories with some even greater characters. While this still holds true with the latest chapter in the series "Devil May Cry 4', it is one of the only things that will interest gamers in pressing on ahead to the next mission and the next.

As the rebellious and sometimes arrogant Nero, you are on the trail of an assassin (Dante) who appeared out of nowhere and put a bullet
into the brain of the leader of the Order of the Sword. Sworn to rid the world of all demons, the Order of the Sword has been an organization that secretly protects mankind and thrives on its anonymity. The daring slaying has rocked their ranks but of course, there is more to the story than anyone realizes. Gargantuan devils, minor demons and some mind-bending puzzles all stand in your way as you chase down clues as to the origins of the deadly assassin.

The astounding cut-scenes are the real draw of 'DMC 4'. They are as detailed and vibrant as any anime film. Be warned, some are a little
long though and they can put a damper on the action. 'DMC 4' has plenty of sword-swinging, gun-blasting, hell-raising action, it is just that it is all against mostly the same foes in the same rudimentary level design. This is 2008 and you would think that the producers would bring along more to the table than they have.

Devil May Cry 4: Same Menacing Demons. Same predictable results.Although there are some great powers and weapons in your arsenal, you will find yourself doing a lot of backtracking in very unimaginative environments or going through the motions as you solve puzzles that
require very little brain matter at all to unravel. The biggest slap in the face is that when Dante's playable part is finally introduced, all you really do is just retrace familiar territory. Taking things one step further, the producers didn't even bother to create new music for the game. All they did is repurpose some of the 'Resident Evil' soundtrack. Lame.

'Devil May Cry 4' is an action-packed game but battling against the same handful of villains in weakly designed levels smothers all the fun once you have spent a couple of hours with the title.
